Club Muse – History
Club MUSE was established in 1993 in Melbourne’s suburb of Elsternwick and initially aimed to be a social club for creative people and lovers of art, poetry and music regardless of age, language or religion. Later it has moved to Elwood and has become:
– a place for discussions on the subjects of Art & Culture
– a venue for promotion of new talents in Arts, Music & Literature
– a permanent Visual Arts Exhibition
– a place where you could participate in singing in Russian, Yiddish, Hebrew, English and poetry reading
– a stage for Performing Arts productions where you could discover your artistic abilities
– a place where you could meet your old friends & start new friendships
– a place to discuss business opportunities over a cup of coffee
Despite of permanently closing its doors in 2010, Club MUSE has become an important and colorful part of cultural history of Russian-speaking community of Melbourne and left fond memories in the hearts of its members, visitors and performers.
