Mural – History

In 2002 Robert was commissioned to design and paint a wall mural for the Migrant Community Centre in East Bentliegh.

The mural with the theme of the search for happiness in the migration context has been completed within 3 months period.

Concept

All of us in Australia are migrants… Just like Butterflies, we abandoned our previous Motherland, overcame distance to find Peace and Happiness in our new Homeland… We all carry on our wings the golden pollen of our own culture to cross-fertilise it with the new culture in order to create a Garden of Wonder…
